I realize we are in the New Year, but my brain is still stuck back somewhere in 2013. I have not thought once about this coming year, or taken time to reflect back about the one we just finished… I’m hoping to get some time in the next few weeks to do this. So for now, I just sat down and looked through some of our Christmas pictures and wanted to share. Christmas this year was so much fun with the boys. They are at the age where they are really fun to celebrate with. They understood that we were celebrating Jesus’ birthday (although when they realized they were getting presents, they both asked if it was their birthday.) So we talked a lot about Jesus, the manger, the angels, and the meaning of this wonderful holiday. Out of all of it, their favorite thing pre-Christmas to do was to drive around and look at lights and yard art. I have never been a huge fan of the massive blow-up things in the front yard until this year when the boys would get so excited and yell with delight when they saw them. One yard had a Thomas the Train, which we drove by lots of times, per Chazzy’s request.
Christmas morning was more fun than they could handle. With Andy’s creativity, and to continue one of his families traditions, he created a really fun scavenger hunt for the boys that ended with them finding their gift. We were really excited to give them a trampoline this year, and it was all worth it when they jumped non-stop all day. The day felt fun and full, and we feel so grateful to celebrate our Savior’s birth with these precious boys. The day after Christmas, we headed up to Georgia to visit all of our family, and had so much fun. I’ll include pictures and more about that trip in the next post.
